A Heartfelt Plea
On a topic so emotive, whilst this is a challenging post in parts, both to write and to read, my purpose is to draw attention to the plight of so many animals who are falling through the cracks, to shine a light.
The animal population comprises of wild animals, farm animals for the production of materials or meat, companion animals, strays and those used for breeding, selling, fighting or protection.
Most of these categories result in the use and abuse of animals for what they can provide, with no inherent care for their wellbeing, as humans, the biggest predators on the planet, ride roughshod.
Animals were created as helpers, we know this because when God said that it is not good for man to be alone, and that He would make a suitable helper, no suitable helper from amongst the animals that He had made was found, and so He created Eve, the first woman. (Genesis 2:18-12)
As stewards of God's creation, we are in a position of Trusted Guardianship, but this is a view that is held only by the few, and where love is not present, abuse takes its place.
Trusted Guardians
As Trusted Guardians, in positions of great responsibility, abuse and neglect cannot be allowed and systems have to be in place to prevent, minimise and eliminate this.
The stark reality of darkness, destruction and devastation that is carried out at the hands of the wicked, ignorant and wilfully disregarding, cannot be ignored, neither can the global animal holocaust that is taking place.
Where there is power, there is always the abuse of power and the battle between the light and the dark is real, requiring a level of authority that is far above our scope of awareness, if we are to win.
There is so much that those of us who are willing to listen, learn and lean in can do, to ease suffering, provide support and help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
In a world that is groaning in pain, we cannot continue to turn a blind eye when we are capable of so much, if we are but willing to wake up from our slumber and do whatever has been placed on our heart.
Expanding Our Mind
We live in an interdependent world, where what we do to others affects us, and vice versa, there is no escape from the pain and the joy that we put out, and therefore, rather let us think higher, for the sake of everyone involved, who's care is entrusted to us.
Yes, life is difficult and suffering is inevitable, but we are capable of greatness, not in our own power and might, but with the help of the Holy Spirit, and it is this force that we are to bend and defer to.
Our cornerstone must always be the highway of holiness, the narrow gate and the road less travelled, worldly ways are very base and devoid of divinity, we must think better, differently and deeply.
We must change our lens from suffering to enjoyment, difficulty to ease, scarcity to abundance, impossibility to possibility, despair for hope, complacency to commitment and death for life.
In doing so, entire new pathways open up before our eyes and ideas, ingenuity and inspirational plans begin to take shape, as we chart a new course, lighting the way for others and bringing joy to many.
A Throw Away Society
Whilst I acknowledge that we have a big problem, challenge and difficulty on our hands, further cruelty, legalised killing and a total disregard for the value of a life is as an abuse of power.
Euthanasia was intended for untenable suffering that cannot be alleviated, it is not a panaçea for laziness, lack of knowledge or lust for power.
The throw-away society that we live in is the cause of the problem, where unprecedented weakness, wantonness and wickedness rules and wisdom calls out but no-one hears.
Ignorance has reached an all-time high, God has been replaced by men who think they are god (lower case g to replace their lower case status) and righteous indignation falls upon deaf ears, blind eyes and closed hearts.
Intercession, intervention and immediate support for those without a choice and without a voice is the only way to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and the truth must be told, no matter how ugly.
The Lens of Suffering
Seeking to solve life's challenges through a dark and tainted lens, euthanasia has become the accepted solution for barking too much, chewing too much, digging too much (all signs of boredom, unhappiness and lack of stimulation), perceived over-population, homelessness, moving house, expensive vet bills and a myriad of unreasonable, unethical and unlawful reasons, and animal welfares so,-called rescues, vets and vet techs are racking up the numbers.
Many in control are devoid of power, passion and purpose, they present a false façade duping and deceiving many and creating untold destruction and we cannot let the devil and his minions rule.
Fuelled by the limiting beliefs that there aren't enough homes, that no-one can take good care of them or that they may fall into the wrong hands, so-called Trusted Guardians take untrustworthy decisions based in fear and fiction as opposed to fact and faith and innocent lives are destroyed by the millions.
Murder has been made palatable by the lie that death is the best option, alternative options are not considered and decisions steeped in guilt, shame and regret weigh heavily on everyone involved.
The welfare of the animal is only considered from the lens of suffering, perpetuating a cycle of death, disease and destruction, instead of life, health and creation.
The Lie of Euthanasia
When it comes to euthanasia, healthy animals do not just close their eyes and go to sleep, animals are very intelligent, they know what's happening, every sense is heightened and on high alert and they are rightly terrified and in abject disagreement.
Sometimes they wag their tails as they are taken into the euthanasia room, unaware of the fate that is about to befall them, whilst vets and vet assistants close the door, hold them down against their will.
In a heart-breaking struggle for their life where the animal loses, in most cases they suffer, strain and shriek terribly, that is why sedation is now used, unless this expense and kindness is spared.
As a needle that administers the lethal dose is sunk into their skin, multiple times in the case of inexperienced vet techs, terror takes hold and they urinate and defecate uncontrollably as their bodies react, respond and release in shock, horror and hostility.
Yes, in cases where an animal is suffering deeply and wants to die, where care and compassion is taken this may be a relief and they won't fight it, but in all other cases, every animal will fight to live, in accordance with their natural right, need and desire.
Do No Harm
Challenging times is when our animals need us the most, yet at both our and their most vulnerable, we let them down, hold them down and put them down without thinking deeply enough about what else might be possible, what is truly best for them and what THEY want.
As vets, the oath taken to do no harm is casually and callously forgotten about and shoved to the back of their minds and all sense and sensibilities are ignored in the deception of our limited and jaded idea of the greater good, with their needs ignored in favour of ours.
Whilst we have a choice in whether or not to euthanise healthy animals, and where we choose to go ahead regardless, we, together with the animal in our hands, suffer greatly, and suicide rates in the vet profession are unsurprisingly staggering.
Mistakes, wrong decisions and decisions made in fear and fiction as opposed to fact and faith are overwhelming, destroying relationships, marriages, careers and futures, and crushing everything in their wake as the reality of rushed, irreversible and rash decisions set in.
As Trusted Guardians, vets, "owners" (you cannot own a living soul), animal welfare and so-called rescues who use euthanasia as a means of population control, to ease their vet bills and to free up space, we should be ashamed of ourselves and held to account.
Compassion Replaced With Complacency
Compassion has been replaced with complacency as animals are murdered by the millions to make room for more and "owners" surrender their loyal and faithful companions in the false belief that they will be taken care of, only to suffer the same fate.
In order to carry out such cruel and callous acts, a level of detachment has to be present and in most cases, the person holding the needle has no relationship with the animal concerned.
If they did, and if they were true animal lovers, they would know how precious that little soul is and would do everything in their power to protect as opposed to destroy.
I love every animal that I have the privilege of serving, supporting and sparing, I love them instantly and completely, they are all unique and special with their own little quirks and the thought of hurting them or betraying their trust in any way breaks my heart.
Emancipation from misguided beliefs resulting in misguided actions must replace a lack of education, edifying action and the endemic failure of those who have precious lives in their hands.
Animal Rights
Animals have rights, they have the breath of life the same as we do, they are astutely aware of everything, far more than we are and far more than we know, and their lives are not ours to take.
Yet, conversely, classed as mere property, they have become disposable, and despots who are devoid of decency, deep thinking and divine knowledge and understanding, choose to destroy.
Whether through false beliefs, fear or fanatical, frenzied and frantic foolishness, we must face the truth, fight for those in need and take affirmative action.
We have become heartless and merciless serial killers who try to justify the unjustifiable, and who, deep in our hearts, know and cannot hide from the truth, as we suffer the consequences of our actions once they seep out the cracks in our armour.
We have to think bigger, better and more beautifully than ever before, and to do this, we need to be in constant communication with the Creator and owner of all.
Choose Life
We always have a choice - creation or destruction, right or wrong, light or darkness, faith or fear, life or death, yes or no.
We each have the power to make a profound difference to all those whose lives we touch, so let us stand up and be counted.
Let us do the work that others are not willing or able to do, let us stand for life, for the truth and for everything that is good and right.
Let us choose better, wisely and with discernment.
Let us choose life.
Higher Thinking
Like all things, this intended relief and kindness is abused and this has to stop, with perpetrators of ignorance, cruelty and wickedness held to account.
Responsible rescue, re-homing and removal of ownership from those who are unable or unwilling to value, respect and cherish life must be the Trusted Guardianship of the future.
Higher thinking is needed, together with love in all its purity, power and perfection.
Humanity has lost her way and we have to take imminent hold of the shred of decency that we have left.
Work that glorifies God is edifying, uplifting and life-affirming, bringing peace and harmony to all, and heart, humility and honour is our only weapon in the fight for what’s right.
Shining A Light
Let us stand for the animals and let those of like mind come together and unite in this worthy cause.
Let us emancipate ourselves from the mental slavery of old worn-out thinking and limiting beliefs and let the dogs be free as both nature and God intended.
May God bless and keep all of those who have fallen at the hands of evil, entropy and empty promises and may He keep us from the evil works of the enemy.
May He open our ears, eyes, minds and hearts and may He replace hearts of stone with hearts of flesh, that we may clearly discern right from wrong and act in accordance with what we know to be right.
In everything, may we do to others what we would have them do to us (Matthew 7:12) and as we liberate ourselves, we liberate others, shining a light so bright that others can't help but come towards it.
Amen.
